Sunshine Coast Stamp Club Inc
A not for profit organisation affiliated with the Queensland Philatelic Council. Members of the Stamp Club are collectors and persons with interest in philately and philatelic history. The Club now meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month (except January) between 1pm and 4pm at the Red Cross Rooms, 21 Price Street, Nambour. Club activities each month include; Viewing Club stamp “Exchange Books” – buying and selling stamps, “Letter of the Month” – where members bring items from their collection that relate to that letter, a “Monthly Quiz” relating to a defined groups of stamps from the Australian Stamp Catalogue, “Show & Tell” – members bring interesting and unique items to show members. By participation in the above activities members earn “Mint Money” which is able to be spent at the Club in the Annual “Mini Auction”. An annual stamp collecting challenge is also held in the form of a “Treasure Hunt” where across the year members collect specified stamps that fit the description in the Treasure Hunt categories. Prizes are awarded for this activity at the annual Christmas Party in December. Across the year there will also “Presentations” on stamp collecting on matters of philatelic interest from members and visiting specialists. Each meeting is concluded with afternoon tea. Members of the community with a philatelic or stamp collecting interest are most welcome to join the Club. Visitors are also welcome. Donations of stamps and philatelic items are always welcome
