BreastScreen Queensland Sunshine Coast Service

Provides free breast cancer screening to women aged 40 years and over. Referrals are not required.

BreastScreen Queensland Sunshine Coast Service provides free breast cancer screening and follow up assessment services to women aged 40 years and over. Women aged 50 - 74 are particularly encouraged to attend.

A breastscreen is an xray that can pick up small changes in the breast tissue, before they can be felt or noticed. For women over 50, a breast screen is the most effective way to detect breast cancer in its early stages.

There are six permanent BreastScreen sites on the Sunshine Coast located at Caboolture, Caloundra, Gympie, Nambour, Noosaville and Maroochydore.

BreastScreen also provides a mobile screening service which visits 11 sites around the Coast during the year. To make an appointment at any of the sites call 13 20 50. A screening appointment takes about 30 minutes and convenient early morning, late afternoon and Saturday appointments are available.
