The Australian Army Cadets is a leading national youth development organisation, which embraces the character, ethos and values of the Australian Army.

The Australian Army Cadets is a leading national youth development organisation, which embraces the character, ethos and values of the Australian Army. Australian Army Cadets fosters an environment in which cadets can develop their self-esteem, learn the importance of being part of a community, and enhance their sense of service to the community and the nation. The values of the Australian Army Cadets are: "Courage, Initiative, Respect and Teamwork". The Australian Army Cadets actively encourages its cadets to apply the AAC values of Courage, Initiative, Respect and Teamwork to their everyday lives, whether they are in uniform or not. Australian Army Cadets provides cadets with the opportunity to develop individual skills including leadership, initiative, and problem solving in a safe, challenging and fun environment. There are 18, 000 Anny Cadets in 240 units spread across all States and Territories of Australia. There are over 1,250 Adult Cadet Staff volunteers who support the program. The Australian Army actively supports the Australian Army Cadets to ensure they get a military experience which emphasises the positive role Army has in the community.
