The Sunshine Coast Aero Club was established in 1959. The Founding Members ran dances, pageants and displays as well as training in cross-hired aircraft in order to bring in enough revenue to develop the club. Since then both the airport and the Sunshine Coast Aero Club have grown substantially, aided by contributions from many men and women who were united in their passion for flying. The club in its present day has developed into one of the leading flight training facilities on the Sunshine Coast. With a focus on providing affordable training courses in Light Sport Aircraft and advanced flying from Aerobatics to Formation. Additionally the club has a very active membership and social activities occur on the regular. The Club is also big supporter of the local community and frequently hosts events in aid of local causes etc.
