Pioneer Park (All Abilities Play Space)
Pioneer Park is a multi-award winning innovative all abilities play space which gives children the opportunity to play on equipment that is both fun and challenging. This is a fully fenced playground which also includes a fully fenced dog park a short distance away.
Located on Caloundra Road in Landsborough, Pioneer Park is designed for people of all ages and abilities. As an 'all abilities' play space, the park features inclusive elements that encourage children of all levels and abilities to engage with one another in play and discovery.
Play elements
- Pioneer play cottage - complete with play kitchen, veranda, ramp access, musical thongaphone and adjustable speakerphone. It also has a xylophone, sand play tables and small climbing net. Out front, is an artificial garden with mailbox and spinning flowers
- Hill hut - ramp access to the top of the hill with lookout and binoculars. Many different slides (dual slide, roller slide) and rope climbing area. There is a flower meadow mural around the base of the hut
- Hammock
- Spinning carousel - with 3 harness seats
- Swings - basket swing and traditional swing
- Flying fox - with high backed seat
- Seesaw - for multiple users
- Living sensory garden – planted in raised garden beds
- Open space areas for kick and throw activities
- Language play tiles and interactive play activity signage throughout

Story seat

Fenced dog park
Pioneer Park has a separate fenced dog park located approximately 350 metres down Caloundra Road. The park features separate enclosures for small and large dogs. The enclosure for larger dogs provides an agility zone for owners to practice their dog’s agility skills and coordination. There is plenty of open space for ball throwing with your dog. The park also has some natural shade, a shelter, picnic table and seating. There is onsite car parking, as well as connecting pedestrian pathways to provide easy access to the park.
