The reserve covers 150 hectares to the south, west and north of the summit. The Mount Ninderry Summit Trail departs from the trail head at the end of Ninderry Road and traverses the northern slopes with a circuit walk near the top. The trail is a three kilometre round trip with major upgrades to the trail and summit infrastructure undertaken in 2017.

There are four different vegetation types with over 301 native plant species identified in this reserve.
