Russell Family Park is located off Western Avenue in Montville, however is best accessed via the public car park at 198 Main Street. The 75,000 square metre recreational park and green open space is a great place for families, friends and visitors to enjoy all year round.
The park offers nature and landscape play activities, with large grassy hills, mature trees, an environmental walk, and a range of wildlife for children to experience. It is a place a which actively connects the user to their environment – giving children the opportunity to explore the outdoors and build on their social skills. The play equipment has a strong emphasis on nature-based play, making both parents and children smile as they enjoy the rock seating walls, colourful artwork and interweaving pathways for children to ride and play. It caters for children two to 12 plus years and is suitable for all ability levels.
The park is also home the "The Children Who Loved Books" story seat, part of the First 5 Forever universal family literacy program.
The park also offers onsite public amenities, car parking facilities, picnic tables with barbecue facilities over looking the beautiful ponds and open grass areas. There is also room for kicking a ball about and plenty of room for large gatherings. The area is wheelchair accessible.
