Pioneer Park, refurbished in 2017, is an innovative all abilities play space which gives children the opportunity to play on equipment that is both fun and challenging. The playground is not only inclusive, it is 'all abilities', which means all play elements in the park encourage children of all levels of abilities to engage with one another in play and discovery. >The official ‘all abilities play space’ offers a fully fenced playground, including swings, harnessed high backed seat flying fox, slides and balancing equipment as well as a sensory garden which is popular for all age groups.

The space is accessible with 1.5 metre wide pathways from the car park to the play activities. The playground floor surface is a combination of rubber, sand and wood chips for variety. The fully fenced play space also provides Braille interpretive signage as well as interactive signage as part of the activities for children to enjoy.

The park is also home to the "I'm a Dirty Dinosaur" story seat, part of the First 5 Forever universal family literacy program.  There are also grassy open spaces to kick a ball around and bike and walking paths for riding or scootering, that are also suited for wheelchair and pram use.

The facility also provides accessible public amenities, picnic tables with barbecues facilities and an off-street car park with disabled parking.

This park is a dog free zone. See dogs.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au for more information.
