Centaur Park is a popular for wedding ceremonies and events. This esplanade park and memorial commemorates those who lost their lives in the sinking of the hospital ship Centaur by Japanese submarine on 14 May 1943. The wreck of the ship was located 30 nautical miles off the tip of Moreton Island on 20 December 2009.
