The upgraded pedestrian crossing will include traffic/pedestrian lights and more road lighting.

Work is scheduled to start late May 2023. Residents adjacent to the works will be updated closer to commencement.

Construction is expected to be completed within three months, weather and site conditions permitting.

Sunshine Coast Council will soon be installing a single solar standalone light pole in Chantilly Park.

The light is to come on at dusk, run for four hours and then dim to a pre-set level for the
rest of the night (all year round).

The intention is to provide ‘security lighting’ throughout the night for people walking through the park, but not at a lighting level that will cause disturbance to residents immediately adjacent the park.

Sunshine Coast Council is committed to the ongoing improvement of local road networks within the region. Council has received partial funding from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) to continue the upgrade along Camp Flat Road, Bli Bli.

An experienced fauna spotter-catcher will be in attendance to manage and supervise all terrestrial fauna management activities prior to and during tree removal works.

Early works will include the construction of a retaining wall on Camp Flat and Whitecross roads intersection, as well Energex and NBN relocations.

More details will be provided to the community prior to these early works commencing.

The main construction is expected to commence in late 2023 / early 2024. Further information will be provided prior to this main

construction phase.

Sunshine Coast Council is committed to maintaining our infrastructure across our region. As part of this year’s Stormwater Renewal Program, Council is replacing three stormwater pits on Whitecross Road, Bli Bli.

Major upgrades are underway for Kawana Aquatic Centre and the facility remains fully operational during this time.

The first of three construction stages (Stage 1A and 1B) involve a new 20-metre indoor pool, along with improved structures, plant, operating equipment, and demolition of the existing indoor pool.

Timing for Stage 2 and Stage 3 is still to be determined.

Future works include a new entry building, children’s water play areas, public amenities, a refurbished kiosk, and improved car parking.

Construction is expected to be completed by November 2023, weather and site conditions permitting.

Sunshine Coast Council is committed to increasing and maintaining pathway networks across our region. Works will begin soon on the installation of two new pathway links (1.5 and 2 meters wide) along Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina.

Works will begin soon on the installation of two new pathway links (1.5 and 2 meters wide) along Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina.

The pathway will be constructed near Venue 114. Please refer to figure 1 overleaf for location of works.

Approximately 30 meters of new path connecting existing pathways will provide improved accessibility, connectivity, and pedestrian safety for our community.

The scope of work also consists of landscaping works including turfing, mulching and tree planting.

As part of this year’s stormwater renewal program, council is replacing a stormwater inlet headwall on Bringenbrong Drive, Buderim.

As part of this year’s stormwater renewal program, council is replacing a stormwater inlet headwall on Bringenbrong Drive, Buderim.

A headwall is a small retaining wall built at the basin of a storm water drainage pipe.

The renewal is required to reduce any erosion to the pipe, and surrounding area, caused by the constant flow of water.

Work is scheduled to start the week beginning Monday 6 March 2023. Construction is expected to be completed within two weeks, weather and site conditions permitting.

Work will occur between 7am and 5pm on weekdays.

Works will begin soon on the construction of a new pedestrian crossing with a refuge island on Lindsay Road before the intersection with Tulip Lane between the two Bus Stops.

Works will begin soon on the construction of a new 200-metre-long stretch of concrete pathway.

The new pathway will be 1.8-metres-wide and extend from #5 Wyndlorn Avenue to #7 Clithero Avenue and will connect the existing footpaths at both ends.

The palm trees located between #11 Wyndlorn Avenue and Clithero Avenue will have to be removed to safely accommodate the new footpath.

Caloundra, Queen and Bower Street - Intersection Upgrade

Sunshine Coast Council is upgrading the intersection at Queen and Bower streets in Caloundra to provide new signalised pedestrian crossings.

 This project will improve safety at this busy intersection for students and the school community, as well as pedestrians and cyclists. It will also help to relieve traffic congestion at school drop off and pick up times.

Some car parking along Queen Street and the Queen Street Service Lane will require reconfiguration to allow for the intersection upgrade and shared pathway construction.

Minor vegetation removal will be required to make way for the upgraded shared pathway and crossings.

The shared pathway upgrade is jointly funded by the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport and Main Roads to extend the cycle network across our region.

Sunshine Coast Council is about to commence work to improve the environment and help beautify the Caloundra Road corridor.

The Caloundra Road Tree Planting project will provide feature accents, colour and visual interest to this major thoroughfare that is the gateway to Caloundra. The project involves infill street tree planting at selected sites between Kawana Way Link Road and Nicklin Way on Caloundra Road.

Tree species have been carefully chosen to complement the sites and follow the local street tree strategies outlined in councils Street Tree Master Plan.

Work is scheduled to commence late March 2023 and construction is expected to last for two weeks (weather dependent). Work hours will be 6:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Sunshine Coast Council will soon begin construction to replace the ageing revetment wallat Bradman Avenue (Cod Hole) boat ramp and upgrade the adjoining car park.

Construction of the car park requires some vegetation removal in the tidal zone. All relevant approvals have been obtained.

Works are scheduled to commence in February 2023 with completion expected in May 2023, site and weather conditions permitting. The revetment wall will be rebuilt first, followed by car park resurfacing and new line marking.

The Cod Hole boat ramp and entire car park will be closed for the duration of works for public safety. Alternative boat ramp locations are shown on figure 2.
