John Atkinson Memorial Park

John Atkinson was a resident and landowner in Buderim who gifted a portion of land at Lower Lindsay Road to the Maroochy Shire Council to become a flora and fauna reserve. The land parcel was later incorporated into the Buderim Forest Bushland Conservation Reserve. To recognise his contribution to the community, family members applied to have a park in the area named in his memory, and the naming of John Atkinson Memorial Park was approved by Sunshine Coast Council in February 2010.
