Route 616 Late Night Service Trial
Let us drive you home for 50 cents! Translink bus route 616 now runs after 10pm every Friday and Saturday night, connecting suburbs between Maroochydore and Palmview.

Heading home in the early hours of the morning from work or a night out, and venue hopping between Mooloolaba and Maroochydore just got easier.
Council has partnered with Translink to trial an extended late night service on route 616 (Maroochydore to Palmview).
Starting Friday 18 July, you can catch a late night bus every Friday and Saturday night from a new stop on Maroochydore Road, right outside Guzman y Gomez – just 180 metres from Ocean Street.
The trial aims to help patrons and workers get home safely and affordably from the Ocean Street and Mooloolaba late night precincts.
What's changed?
Route 616 – Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Sippy Downs (including UniSC) and Palmview
- Ten new late night/ early morning trips after 10pm every Friday and Saturday night
- Stops at the new Maroochydore Road (Guzman y Gomez) location every Friday and Saturday night after 10pm.
- Includes additional two new stops in Mooloolaba on Walan Street and River Esplanade for the late night service only.
Route 600 – Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Kawana, Currimundi and Caloundra
- Now stops at the new Maroochydore Road (Guzman y Gomez) location every Friday and Saturday night after 10pm.

We have partnered with Translink to make it easier and safer to get around late at night, with more services connecting the Safe Night Precincts of Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. This includes a new bus stop closer to the heart of Maroochydore’s nightlife and, for the first time ever, late night services to Sippy Downs, Buderim, and Palmview, which are home to many UniSC students and late night workers.

When does the 600 (Maroochydore - Caloundra) late night service stop at the Maroochydore Rd bus stop?
Route 600 late night service runs to and from the new Maroochydore Rd stop every Friday and Saturday night. The service runs:
- To Caloundra via Mooloolaba - departing Maroochydore Rd, Maroochydore hourly from 10:09pm – 3:09am
- To Maroochydore via Mooloolaba - departs Caloundra hourly from 10:10pm – 2:10am.

Only late night trips after 10pm on routes 616 and 600 will stop at the new bus stop on Friday and Saturday nights.
There are no changes to the stops for route 620. This service will continue to run from Maroochydore Station (Aerodrome Rd) to Noosa.
