Why is Council funding a public transport service trial?

Why is Council funding a public transport service trial?

This initiative is part of a community-driven trial responding to strong local demand for public transport in an area currently without regular services. While Translink provides public transport on the Sunshine Coast, both the State Government and Council recognise there are gaps in the network.  Funding a public transport trial supports Translink and Council to work closely together and test public transport services which respond to the evolving travel needs of residents and visitors.
