Kawana Cubs

The Kawana Cubs achieved 10 hours of environmental activities at Buddina to earn their Landcare badge. They ventured out over 3 Sunday working bees in June and even the rain didn’t stop them.

The cubs were very enthusiastic and managed to plant 640 native ground covers and removed 40 bags of weeds from the dunes. They also participated in a beach clean-up to remove marine debris.

Well done cubs! Congratulations for receiving your Landcare badge.

Kawana Scouts

Kawana Scouts spent a recent Sunday morning restoring habitat at the top of Point Cartwright at Buddina. They planted 95 native trees, removed 10 bags of weeds and collected marine debris from the beach.

Once established the trees planted will help reduce light for turtles that nest in the area, as well as become food and habitat for other animals.

What a great way to help our environment. Thanks so much for your wonderful work Kawana Scouts!
