Permanent siting of shipping containers

On 13 September 2018, council declared that shipping containers and other metal storage containers, where in the form of a class 10a building, may have an adverse effect on the amenity of the Sunshine Coast in certain zones (taking effect on and from 1 October 2018). At this meeting council also adopted strategic policy - assessment of amenity and aesthetics considerations for particular building work - shipping containers, for the assessment of shipping containers under council's concurrence agency jurisdiction.
