Muller Park
Muller Park is located along the Maroochy River and has something for everyone. The park features a shaded indigenous themed playground and games trail, picnic facilities, shelters and barbecues. There are plenty of open space areas for kick and throw activities, a basketball half-court, skate park and fenced dog park.
Located on the corner of Muller Park Road and David Low Way, Muller Park is 3.6 hectares of parkland and sits along the Maroochy River.
As part of the 2018 Commonwealth Games event, council, in partnership with the Queensland Government, Nature Play Queensland and the Office of the Commonwealth Games, installed a traditional indigenous games trail. The games and trail location were selected in consultation with the traditional owners of the area, the Kabi Kabi First Nation People. The word Biwathin, pronounced Bee-wad-jin, comes from the Kabi Kabi language of the Sunshine Coast and means ‘to laugh’.
Explore the Biwathin Games Trail to find out more about the traditional games that were played by indigenous children in many different parts of Australia.
