Spaces for creatives
A dedicated network of places and spaces for artists to connect, create and to facilitate access to affordable spaces for making, exhibiting and performing.
The Sunshine Coast is home to a thriving arts community. The natural beauty and connectivity of the region makes it a wonderful place for artists to live and practice. In 2018, the council launched a 20 year vision for the arts and developed the region’s first arts plan.
Spaces for Creatives is an ongoing initiative as part of Council’s broader MadeSC program. The program champions accessible, affordable places for artists to connect, create, and collaborate. It supports the development and activation of spaces for making, exhibiting, and performing, while advocating for the essential role of creative infrastructure in a thriving arts ecosystem.
Spaces for creatives does just that through supporting or activating a network of spaces across the region including sub tropic studio, in-artist run initiative and previously, 2ND Space in Nambour.
Independent spaces and artists are also able to list and find space through the creative spaces website, an initiative of Melbourne City Council and supported by Sunshine Coast Council. Find out more or find a space on the Sunshine Coast.
