Tai Chi and Qi Gong

Another exciting new class is added to the Healthy Sunshine Coast ‘arsenal’ - Tai Chi and Qi Gong on the beach in Mudjimba.

Both Tai Chi and Qi Gong are traditional Chinese "moving meditations" that combine slow, gentle movements, deep breathing, and focused intention to improve physical and mental health.

Qi Gong focuses on cultivating energy flow for health, and also acts as a foundation for Tai Chi, a more complex, choreographed martial art. Both increase energy, balance, and reduce stress.

Regular practice of Tai Chi promotes: strength; mindfulness; neuroplasticity; relaxation; balance; and flexibility.

Join Nathan Coxsen from Chenstyle Tai Chi Australia for this unique class that combines both Tai Chi and Qi Gong in the one class!

Nathan is a highly experienced practitioner, having practiced tai chi for over 20 years, and has travelled to China and Europe many times to study and develop his skills.

Men’s Community Yoga & Wellbeing is a welcoming weekly community gathering designed to support physical health, mental wellbeing, connection, and resilience.

Each session combines mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, mobility practices, and deep relaxation to help participants improve flexibility, balance, strength, body awareness, and overall wellbeing.

Modern life places significant demands on many men through work, family responsibilities, business commitments, and community involvement. These sessions offer an opportunity to pause, recharge, and invest in personal wellbeing within a supportive and inclusive environment.

Suitable for men of all ages, backgrounds, fitness levels, and experience levels, the classes are designed to be accessible for complete beginners through to experienced practitioners.

Classes are facilitated by Kayur Kotecha, a physiotherapist, yoga teacher, and community wellbeing advocate who is passionate about helping people move well, feel well, and live well.

The intention is simple: to create a welcoming space where men can come together, improve their health and wellbeing, cultivate resilience, and strengthen their connection to themselves, each other, and the wider Sunshine Coast community.
