The Sunshine Coast Stadium is proposed to host Olympic football preliminaries and quarter finals in 2032. An upgrade to the Sunshine Coast Stadium will include a boost to permanent seating, a new eastern grandstand and a rebuilt western grandstand.
Project timeline
Queensland Government, Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) is delivering the Sunshine Coast Stadium upgrade.
2027 - Club relocation - timing to be confirmed
- Kawana Dolphins Junior Rugby League Club relocating from Kawana Sports Precinct to Meridan Fields Sporting Complex
- Kawana Rugby League Club remains at Kawana Sports Precinct
- Sunshine Coast Falcons senior men remain at Kawana Sports Precinct
- Sunshine Coast Falcons females and juniors continue tenure and activation at new Nirimba Sports Park, Caloundra South - commenced in 2026
- Brothers Rugby Club remains at Kawana Sports Precinct
