The Kids in Action Team are hoping to offer a face-to-face program this year. However, we will remain responsive to Queensland Health directives as they emerge. Registered schools will receive updates directly from the team via email. For further information please contact us.

Kids in Action is Sunshine Coast Council's award-winning environmental program for school-aged children. It aims to grow a culture that values caring for the natural world. Kids in Action brings together hundreds of students, teachers and local experts including First Nations custodians from across the region to collectively build skills and share learnings to help conserve the Sunshine Coast's spectacular environment. The program has a number of components: an immersive environmental projects day introduces kids to the yearly theme; incursions from KIA team and mentors support schools in undertaking a relevant project; and finally schools present their project findings and outcomes to other schools at the Sunshine Coast Kids-Teaching-Kids conference.

Last year Kids in Action won a prestigious Queensland Reconciliation Award (Partnerships) for partnering with Sunshine Coast First Nations communities to build skills and share knowledge about caring for Country. For further information about previous conference years please visit Past Events
