Division 1 Councillor Rick Baberowski said it was terrific that the community had the chance to enjoy high calibre performances for free as part of the Sundayze series.
"It isn’t every day two six piece bands come to Beerwah for a Sunday music session for everyone to enjoy," Cr Baberowski said.
"Through the Sundayze series, the community can experience a taste of fantastic local and national entertainment at a range of venues on the Sunshine Coast.
"This Sunday’s event is in my patch at Turner Park, behind the Beerwah Library and the Community Hall. It is the perfect park for families to enjoy some free and funky music featuring local entertainers Toni Zaffa and PocketLove.
"So gather your family and friends and bring your picnic blanket, chairs and dancing shoes."
The Lions Club of Beerwah will also be on hand to satisfy your hunger with a delicious sausage sizzle and there will also be a coffee cart on site.
The Funky Fusion line up is impressive including the powerhouse vocals of Toni Zaffa who grew up on the Sunshine Coast and got her big break in the Jesus Christ Superstar National Tour. Toni has played all over the USA to sell out performances including the hottest New York clubs with The David Letterman Band among others. Toni is bringing with her an All Star Jazz and Blues Band who are a force to be reckoned with.
Completing the afternoon of electrifying entertainment is former Beerwah guitarist Tom Combes who formed the band PocketLove in 2008. Pocketlove has been taking audiences by surprise with its mix of bombastic rhythms, searing guitars, angelic horns and party lyrics at Brisbane hot spots such as The Press Club and mega club Cloudland.
As winners of the Original Selections competition Pocketlove secured an amazing opportunity to rock the main stage alongside major acts at the 2011 Caloundra Music Festival. 2012 has proven to be just as fruitful as it supported Anthony Callea at the recent international Noosa Food and Wine Festival.
