Young people, aged between 12 and 22, are setting up shop in selected Sunshine Coast Council Libraries this summer to sell their one off original creations.
If you need some creative shopping ideas this Christmas and you don’t want to face the crowds head to the Y-shops located at Maroochydore, Caloundra, Noosa and Nambour Libraries from 1 December 2012 to 19 January 2013.
Every Saturday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am young ‘teenpreneurs’ will be gaining invaluable retail experience and confidence in their passion to create their own business. With no stall, vendor, rent or equipment fees, Sunshine Coast Libraries supply the space, the tables and the venue giving these young people the opportunity to showcase their talent.
On sale will be original merchandise including works by local Indigenous artist Zoe Raymond and everything from clothing, dream catchers, beaded jewellery and mosaics to fairy twig houses and much more.
One young ‘teenpreneur’ from last year’s Y-shop, Sam Welbourne aged 12, will be making an appearance at Maroochydore Library from 9.30am to 11.30am on 1 December to sell and sign copies of her newly published book How to make fairy houses.
