On Wednesday, May 27, at exactly 11am, Sunshine Coast Council libraries will take part in the annual National Simultaneous Storytime along with thousands of schools, libraries and playgroups across Australia.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an important annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.
Now in its 15th successful year it is a colourful, vibrant and fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using an Australian children's book that explores age appropriate themes and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Grades 1 to 6.
This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime book is The Brothers Quibble by Aaron Blabey. Aaron is the author of many well-loved, award-winning children's picture books including Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley, The Ghost of Miss Annabel Spoon and the best-selling Pig the Pug.
A number of Sunshine Coast Libraries will be hosting sessions, reading the story and having lots of fun.
