Based on the books by Eric Carle, the timeless classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar will make its way off the page and onto the stage at council’s Lake Kawana Community Centre on Saturday, June 3 2017 at 10am and 12.30pm.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of the most famous children’s books of all time, selling more than 41 million copies worldwide.

Eric’s books have captivated readers with his iconic colourful hand-painted tissue paper collage illustrations and distinctively simple stories, introducing generations of children into a bigger and brighter world.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, the critically acclaimed production of The Very Hungry Catepillar Show features a collection of 75 lovable puppets during a 50-minute show that adapts to three more of Eric Carle’s best-selling classic tales including The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse, Mr. Seahorse and The Very Lonely Firefly.

The creative team behind the production include Naomi Edwards (director), Michael Sieders (producer), James Browne (set designer), Nicholas Raymount (lighting designer), Nate Edmondson (sound designer and composer), The Puppet Kitchen New York (puppets), Andrea Espinoza (costume designer).

This Australian-made show will excite, educate and entertain new readers and first-time theatre-goers, while for those who grew up with these books will delight in experiencing one of the most popular children’s books ever written.
