Millions of Australian households were reeled in by the Sunshine Coast’s best natural wonders during last Saturday’s Fishing Australia program on the WIN Television Network.
The second half-hour episode will air Saturday, 5th February from 5:30pm and reveal more of the region’s best fishing and recreation spots.
Fishing Australia program host and Pelican Waters resident Rob Paxevanos said the second instalment of the two-part Sunshine Coast feature would enthral viewers, including locals.
“This week’s episode will have a bit of a focus on the southern areas of the Sunshine Coast, including some magnificent spots around Caloundra,” he said.
“We filmed these programs over the last six months and they really do capture the absolute best of the Sunshine Coast from a fishing and outdoor recreation point of view.
“I chose to make the Sunshine Coast my home a couple of years ago and I’ve fallen head over heels for this region. I’m so excited to have this chance to take millions of Australians on an hour-long tour of this beautiful part of the world!
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the second Fishing Australia episode was an exciting opportunity to showcase Caloundra’s great natural assets.
“The natural beauty of Caloundra is a stand out feature of the Sunshine Coast and our magnificent beaches and waterways are among the cleanest and most picturesque you’ll find anywhere,” Cr Dwyer said.
“To see this part of our region feature on such a popular and well respected program as Fishing Australia is very exciting for our local community and I’d like to thank Rob and the WIN Network for this opportunity and exposure.”
Fishing Australia is a fantastic show that’s now in its 15th year and has rated right up there with live motorsport which just goes to show how incredibly popular and well respected it is on a national scale,” Mayor Jamieson said.
Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Ambrose said the Fishing Australia program was now in its 15th year and enjoyed an average weekly audience of 2.5million viewers across the country.
“When you combine those television ratings with fishing being the most popular outdoor recreation activity in South East Queensland, you can be certain that a lot of people will see more of what the Sunshine Coast has to offer tomorrow evening,” he said.
“Hopefully people love what they see and will put the Sunshine Coast on their future travel plans.”
