Sunshine Coast Council will join forces with the Majestic Theatre and the Noosa Museum in Pomona to provide a unique joint community celebration of Queensland Heritage Week and International Museums Day on Friday 13 May.

The Majestic Theatre Pomona and the Noosa Museum will present a good old fashioned double-bill movie and museum night featuring Buster Keaton's silent short "One Week" and Ben Stiller in "Night at the Museum" followed by an atmospheric night visit to Noosa Museum.

Buster Keaton’s 10 minute short will be accompanied by live organ playing – an opportunity not to be missed by a young audience! And what better way to stimulate interest in our community museums and ignite the imaginations of our children than by also showing the popular “Night at the Museum” in the historically significant and iconic Majestic Theatre.

To cap off the evening - and for those looking for a bit of adventure and intrigue - a short stroll to the Noosa Museum is a must. A snoop around the museum could see some interesting objects come to life.

This event has been designed specifically for families, and children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite museum object or historical identity. Two family passes to the Science Centre in Brisbane will be awarded to the two best dressed children on the night.

Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start at the Majestic Theatre, 3 Factory Street, Pomona on Friday 13 May 2011. Pre-purchased tickets: $27 Families; $10 Adults; $5 Children. Tickets at the door: $35 Families; $12 Adults; $7 Children. Snack food and drinks available. For enquiries and bookings, phone 5485 2330.
