A much-needed toilet facility is on the cards for King George VI Park in Yandina but Sunshine Coast Council needs community input on where it should be built.

Division 10 Councillor Paul Tatton said local residents had until 24 February to have their say on the location of the soon-to-be-constructed toilet block.

"A new toilet facility is needed in King George VI Park for general amenity and also to steer people away from using the private toilets in the adjacent Yandina Community Gardens," he said.

"Various locations have been investigated and there are now two options to consider.

"The Yandina and District Community Association and the Yandina Chamber of Commerce have received feedback forms and more will be delivered to nearby residents in the coming days."

The proposed toilets will be built in the 2012/13 financial year and are likely to comprise of one unisex all-accessible cubicle and one other unisex cubicle. The facility will be built to complement existing par infrastructure, be easily accessible and be safe and clearly visible from the nearby road and from within the park itself.
