Meet inspector plumber – after hours

Sunshine Coast Council now offers an after hours plumbing inspection service for regulated plumbing and drainage works for residential and business developments.

Plumbing Services Manager, Allan Hazell said the after hours inspection service is helping local business and households by providing flexible inspection times 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Council recognised that an extended service would benefit people who don’t have time during normal business hours to get their plumbing inspection completed by a Local Government Officer," Mr Hazell said.

"It’s an innovative approach that is meeting the needs of people who need flexible options when it comes to plumbing and drainage inspections.

"Inspections are required under the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2002 any time that regulated plumbing and drainage work is undertaken.

"The uptake by businesses and householders has been steadily growing the more people realise that the service is available.

"It does cost more for an applicant to have an after hours plumbing service inspection and the feedback we have been receiving is that the benefits balance well with the costs."
