Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens one of the best hidden gems

While summer holidays on the coast usually conjure visions of trips to the beach, locals and visitors who are keen to discover some of the natural hidden gems of the Sunshine Coast should consider exploring the Maroochy Bushland Botanic gardens this summer.

Nestled in the heart of Tanawah, the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens are home to permanent nature-based art displays and the Whipbird Walk children’s playground.

Visitors can explore the pristine environment, immaculate gardens, enjoy open recreation spaces and relaxing bushland surroundings.

The magnificent 82 hectare garden supports native plants and wildlife, and includes a mix of eucalypt open forest and creek-side rainforest, featuring lagoons, rocky and palm filled gullies, and the headwaters of Mountain Creek.

The garden showcases plants native to the Sunshine Coast region. These local plants are perfectly adapted to the coast's climate and conditions.

If you’re looking for a fantastic way to unwind and soak in the relaxing natural environment, free yoga classes are also held at the gardens each Saturday morning at 7am.
