A residents’ handbook, designed for people who live next to an artificial waterway, is now available from council.

Did you know, if you live next to a lake, canal or similar, you share certain responsibilities with council in how that waterway is managed?

And, if you are thinking of building a deck, pontoon or jetty, you can contact council’s development information unit on 5475 7526 to get free advice about whether a development application is required for your property.

You’ll find all this and more in the handbook. Grab your copy to find answers to common questions, residents’ responsibilities and to understand how artificial waterways function.

Copies are free and available from libraries, customer contact centres and on council’s website.
