Noosa Lions Park is set for a major upgrade and Sunshine Coast Council is calling on residents to help mould the future look and feel of the facility.
A ‘Meet us in the park’ session will be held on Saturday 5 March from 8am to 11am at Noosa Lions Park.
Division 11 Councillor Russell Green said residents were invited to drop in and discuss their views on how the park could be improved.
"This is a terrific opportunity for people who may use Noosa Lions Park or live nearby to have a genuine say into what they want this facility to provide in the future," he said.
"Residents can speak face to face with me and other council representatives on their ideas for the park and all of that feedback will contribute to its future direction."
A questionnaire will also be circulated for residents to fill out from 24 February. Copies of the questionnaire will be available at the Noosa Visitor Information Centre, Sunshine Coast Council (Tewantin Office), Noosa Library and Sunshine Coast Council Mobile Library (North). The questionnaire can also be accessed on council’s website.
Cr Green said residents would have until March 18 to submit their ideas on the park.
"Council will use this feedback to develop a landscape concept plan for Noosa Lions Park that will also be made available for further community input," he said.
"The park is currently a meeting place for sporting clubs and individuals to exercise in and the nearby Halse Lodge, transit hub and carpark attracts tourists to the facility to relax and take a break from the beach.
"Lions Park is also used as a staging area for large community events like the Noosa Triathlon, Noosa Food and Wine Festival, Noosa Winter Festival and the Noosa Classic Car Show.
"Community feedback will help council ensure that all groups and events are better catered for in the future."
