Maintenance of the Kings Beach groyne – a structure which protects the beach from significant sand movements caused by the tides – will start in April.

Major weather events have dislodged the existing rocks from their original position, reducing the effectiveness of the groyne, and the maintenance will reinstate the structure back to its original alignment.

Construction is expected to be completed within six weeks. Most work will be done during the day (Monday to Saturday) and council will attempt to keep construction noise to a minimum, however sound may travel depending on prevailing winds.

Council is committed to the protection of waterways and beaches across the region for everyone to enjoy.
