Locals and visitors who enjoy exploring the natural setting of Caloundra Town Reserve are encouraged to have their say on a draft concept plan for the area to guide future uses and activities on the site.
The reserve consists of around 49ha of bushland and caters for a range of recreational activities for the community.
The concept plan has been guided by feedback from the local community and developed over recent months.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the concept plan aimed to maximise the reserve’s use for residents and visitors.
“Through this process, we’re aiming to determine the recreational opportunities andconstraints of this site and ensure the community’s vision, priorities and hopes for the future of the reserve are reflected in future plans,” Cr Dwyer said.
“A key aspect of this concept is maintaining the off-road biking aspects of the reserve.
“We will be working to ensure trails are as practical, challenging, functional and accessible as possible to cater for biking enthusiasts of all ages, both locals and the visitors to our region alike.”
The concept plan is available on council’s website and on public display at the Caloundra Library.
Submissions on the concept can be made online via council’s website, or by contacting council for a hard copy of the survey.
All completed surveys go into a draw to win $300 in gift vouchers to Caloundra food and beverage businesses.
Submissions close 5pm on Friday, June 9, 2017.
