Gretel Killeen, of Big Brother fame, will headline one of the most talked-about literary lunches on the Sunshine Coast next month.
Killeen is not only a household name due to hosting TV’s Big Brother, she has also written more than 20 books, including her latest memoir The Night My Bum Dropped.
Her book is described as a tale of the female midlife crisis for the generation who were meant to be superwomen – “able to run a global empire, raise a family, help a crippled dog give birth and do the ironing all at the same time”.
She will be joined by the award-winning author, Toni Jordan, at a Books Alive literary lunch on Noosa River on Thursday 17 September, 11.30am for a noon start.
Jordan became a literary superstar thanks to Addition, a romantic tale about a numbers-obsessed woman that had publishers from around the world locked in a bidding war.
The book was critically acclaimed from Dublin to Sydney – a remarkable achievement for the first novel from this Brisbane-born, Melbourne-based writer.
Both women will discuss their literary success and secrets over a three-course lunch at Trios On the River at Tewantin. Tickets are $36 and available from Noosa Library on 5442 4411.
