Sunshine Coast Airport is looking for help from the community to complete its latest online survey and convince airlines that the region needs flights north.
Sunshine Coast Airport’s General Manager, Peter Pallot, said community interest for flights to North Queensland had continued to grow and the online survey was designed to capture as much information about that demand as possible.
“The Sunshine Coast community is calling loud and clear for northern flight services with Cairns topping the list as the most requested destination from the general feedback we’ve received,” Mr Pallot said
“We need to gather targeted information from Sunshine Coast residents relating to their Cairns and Far North Queensland business and leisure travel wants and needs and we will use this information in our discussions with airlines.
“It was the community’s help via our online survey in 2014 that convinced Qantas to return to the Sunshine Coast and start business friendly flights to Sydney earlier this year.
“We want to harness that same energy again in our push for flights north
“If you want to make a difference and help get flights from the Sunshine Coast to Cairns, we ask that you spend a few minutes to complete the survey and share with your friends and business contacts.”
To complete the survey, visit the home page of the airport’s website www.sunshinecoastairport.com.au.
The survey will be open until Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
