Finishing touches to Caloundra Coastal Pathway

The final stage of work on an important pedestrian link between Golden Beach and the Caloundra CBD is about to get underway.

The Tripcony section of the Coastal Pathway will soon be completed via construction of 100m of pathway along with adjoining road works and tree planting.

Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the final section of pathway would lead from the coastguard to Maloja Avenue.

“The existing pathway on the eastern side of Tripcony Lane is about 1.2m wide so to make it 3m wide and consistent with the rest of the Coastal Pathway, Tripcony Lane will be shifted slightly west to make space for this new path,” he said.

“Tripcony Lane will also undergo works to improve the road surface and new trees will be planted on the western side of the lane.”

“Once complete, this section of the Coastal Pathway between Leach Park at the northern end of Golden Beach and Tripcony Lane will provide access for pedestrians who previously had to detour around the Caloundra Waterfront Holiday Park and reconnect at Maloja Avenue.

“This link is part of council’s overall Coastal Pathway that will eventually run from Bells Creek to Tewantin.”

Work on this final 100m stretch of the Coastal Pathway is scheduled to start on February 25 and is expected to be complete by March 28 (weather permitting).
