Nambour Library will be closed for three days - from Monday, July 16 to Thursday July 19 - to allow for work on refreshing the facility with new shelving.

During the closure, Sunshine Coast Libraries will provide a pop-up library in council’s Eddie De Vere building, located next to the Nambour Library.

The pop-library will be open 8.30am-5pm and customers will be able to pick up reservations and return items.

However, there will be no Justice of the Peace, Story time, Rhyme time, Genealogy or Heritage Library services during the closure.

Nambour Library customers can visit another library branch for these free services and are encouraged to use our eLibrary 24/7.

Council is committed to investing in library operations and infrastructure to ensure they remain relevant and responsive to new and existing audiences, and continue to have a positive, ongoing influence in our diverse communities.

Sunshine Coast Libraries are one of council’s most visible, highly utilised and valued services to the community.

To ensure the continuation of a relevant and well-utilised library service, the Sunshine Coast Libraries Plan was endorsed to provide strategic direction for library operational and infrastructure considerations over the next decade.

Council aims to provide quality, unique and flexible library environments that are designed to complement the distinct locality of the communities they represent – the shelving replacement in Nambour Library is a step in that direction.

Sunshine Coast Council thanks the community for their understanding during the Nambour Library closure, and looks forward to welcoming customers back into the refreshed space.
