A documentary film that goes beyond the fashion shops and into the clothing factories to expose the truth about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the impact it’s having on our world will be screened at Council’s Arthouse Cinema Nambour, Thursday, July 2 at 7pm.

The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have been rising dramatically. The True Cost is a groundbreaking new documentary that pulls back the curtain on an unseen part of the world and asks us each to consider, who pays the price for our clothing?

Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways, to the darkest slums, The True Cost will give you a global perspective into the highly profitable fashion industry and open your eyes to the real truth that is hiding behind your favourite labels.

Described by Elle Magazine as “Gut-wrenching and alarming,” as well as CNN who said it’s “a sweeping, heartbreaking and damning survey of the clothing industry,” the film is an invitation to understand this global issue and the chain reaction that occurs when you buy your items of clothing.

The True Cost features interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth, Vandana Shiva and many more.

The film’s internationally recognised director, Andrew Morgan, is focused on telling stories for a better tomorrow. Not just another documentary, The True Cost exemplifies the power of storytelling as a tool in the ongoing fight for human rights around the world.
