Division 2 Cr Terry Landsberg - First Community Meeting under way
I have been a long-term small business owner, Sunshine Coast resident and community volunteer and I have a great love for this area and its community. I decided to run for council to represent our community in ways that will have a lasting positive impact. It is important to me that we balance the environment, the community and the economy.
While I have been the Division 2 Councillor now for a couple of months, this is my first column in this My Weekly Preview publication so I wanted to say I am honoured and privileged to represent you in our beautiful region, thank you for trusting me to represent you.

Our approach to supporting regional economic development will drive our community’s COVID-19 recovery. I am glad that already we have been able to better support local business through revisiting our preferred suppliers arrangement, improving processes, building safety measures into contracts to protect subcontractors and we are continuing to work with industry networks to strengthen our business community.
It is great that we have been able to secure some of the Queensland Government COVID-19 Works for Queensland funding to support our AFL players and mountain bikers in Division 2. The Sugar Bag Road Mountain Bike trails network at Little Mountain has been allocated $1.32 million of this state funding. Council already had plans to deliver a pump track and junior skills area, along with a basic trail care area. Our Caloundra AFL and Little A's future is also looking brighter thanks to the $60,000 injection for field lighting.
If you haven’t yet, make sure you get to Bulcock Beach and ride the giant ferris wheel there. Already this year we have had an increase of five per cent in the first 10 days compared with last year and there are some great specials available. Go to the Downtown Caloundra website and facebook.
It was great to see those of you from the 11 Caloundra community groups at our first Division 2 Community Committee Meeting. It was informative and useful to hear your concerns and goals. I hope to see even more of you at the next of these quarterly meetings.
Regards, Terry
