Cr Cox - Nicklin Way Bus Stop Upgrade

Council’s Transport Levy is improving public transport today, and for the future. The Transport Levy in 2018/2019 will support the continued planning for the Light Rail project and other strategic transport planning, Council Link and Flexilink trial services, bus stop accessibility upgrades and travel behaviour change investigations. The Transport Levy is working for Division 3 with the bus stop opposite IGA Wurtulla upgraded recently. It now meets the standards for compliance with the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (DSAPT). Over 70% of Sunshine Coast bus stops are now compliant.

Local achievers recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Congratulations to all those who have been recognised for their significant contribution to the community; a special mention to Division 3 resident David Woods of Wurtulla who was awarded with the Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM) for his exceptional dedication and commitment to the enhancement of technical rescue capabilities within Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

I’m privileged to represent Division 3 and endeavour to make myself available to residents whenever possible. This includes attending community meetings, through my ‘community update’ newsletters, via Facebook (search for Cr Peter Cox) or at my monthly ‘mobile office’ sessions at Currimundi Marketplace.
