Currimundi Lake upgrade

What an exciting time for lovers of Currimundi Lake. The much anticipated foreshore upgrade at Cliff Hargreaves Park has commenced and is expected to be complete around mid-October, weather dependent. The works include new beach showers, bicycle rack, bins, coastal stone retaining wall and additional turfed open space area, including irrigation. Your safety is paramount so management measures will be in place for the duration of the works and I encourage you to choose other beach access points until the works are complete.

New ‘growth’ in Division 3

I’m happy to report the Sunshine Coast Street Tree Master Plan’s priority planting program has delivered 66 new trees for Division 3. We planted 37 new trees near Currimundi State School and 29 around Talara Primary College, all native species to the area. The trees were planted along key pedestrian routes to help improve shade and cool the footpath networks. Street trees improve the look and feel of our communities and help create a healthy and vibrant place to live. Did you know you can adopt a street tree? By adopting a street tree you will have the opportunity to help plant new trees and volunteer to care for them while they establish. To register to adopt a street tree call council on 5475 7272 or email [email protected].
