With the recent turning of the first sod at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) site comes the knowledge of numerous job opportunities for local businesses on the horizon - however showcasing your expertise will be critical to securing the job.

SunshineCoast Council in partnership with ICN (Industry Capability Network) will be holding a series of workshops to assist businesses interested in tendering for the SCUH to write an effective Capability Statement that best demonstrates their capabilities.

Economic Development (Health & Medical Precinct and Education) Portfolio Councillor Peter Cox said all SunshineCoast businesses interested in tendering for work on the SCUH and other Major Projects are invited and encouraged to attend one of the upcoming sessions.

“A Capability Statement is like a resume for your business and having an effective statement is vital for businesses tendering for major projects like SCUH,” he said.

“The hospital will be the centre piece of the Kawana Health Precinct, which will provide the biggest economic boost in the region’s history.

“Council wants to make sure as many local businesses as possible get work from this massive investment both during the construction phases and at the completed hospital facility.

“The Building Effective Capability Statements Workshop is a valuable opportunity to ensure you professionally present your skills and attributes and help you win the job.”

The workshop will be limited to 30 places per session at a cost of $35.
