Council's pound is located at Tanawha. If your pet has been impounded, all fees must be paid before the animal is released.

If your animal has been impounded, all fees must be paid before the animal is released.
If your animal is registered, you can retrieve your dog or cat with no impounding fee from council’s pound the first time it is impounded, this includes any animal returned home by an Authorised Officer.
If you have recently moved to the Sunshine Coast we will honour current reciprocal animal registrations, however you must register your animals within 14 days of arriving on the Coast.
Infringements may apply for animal related offences.
Payment plans will not be accepted and all fees, charges and registrations must be paid in full prior to release.
Dogs and cats are held for a minimum of three working days before being assessed.

Lost and found animals – Noosa Shire Council
Sunshine Coast Council has partnered with Noosa Shire Council to provide pound services for lost and found animals within the Noosa Shire.

Important: If your animal has been impounded by Noosa Shire Council, all relevant fees must be paid at Noosa Council Chambers in Tewantin before the animal is released from the Sippy Creek Animal Pound.
Purchasing animals
The pound does not sell animals. However suitable unclaimed dogs and cats are rehoused through the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge (SCAR), 4 Paws Animal Rescue and RSPCA.
