7 Years to Grow
Celebrating seven years until the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In just seven years, the world’s eyes will turn to the Sunshine Coast for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Council is celebrating this important milestone with 7 Years to Grow- an exciting initiative to green our backyard and work towards a more sustainable region in 2032 and beyond.

From 23 July to 5 September, 7 Years to Grow will see:
- 20 free tree events across the region hosted by your local Councillors
- 9 BushCare working bees to plant and regenerate local bushland
- 92 trees to be planted along Sportsmans Parade and the east bank of Lake Kawana as part of Council’s street tree program.
- 500 trees planted at the Sunshine Coast Ecological Park
- Free trees for local sports clubs and community groups
- All Sunshine Coast schools offered a free Games tree to plant on their grounds
- A commemorative tree planted by Mayor Rosanna Natoli
How to get involved:
