First nations artwork

Council’s art collection aims to reflect and celebrate the character and culture of the Sunshine Coast. This collection aims to contain artworks that have a connection to the people and places of the region. It also aims to preserve and display a collection of state and national significance. This is through its broader holdings of contemporary Australian art.

Through its reconciliation action plan (RAP), council purchased a number of artworks by traditional custodians and first nations people who call the Sunshine Coast home.
