The Sunshine Coast’s innovation ecosystem provides a supportive environment where entrepreneurs are encouraged, ideas are nurtured through industry collaboration and supported by regional leadership:

  • Sunshine Coast regional innovation program (#SCRIPT) is a collaboration of local entrepreneurs, businesses, government stakeholders and community members dedicated to growing innovation and business capacity on the Sunshine Coast
  • Digital Sunshine Coast is hosted by Sunshine Coast Council and Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast in partnership with a large network of organisations and individuals, whose aim is to connect people on the Sunshine Coast on the topic of digital innovation
  • Speed it up another digital Sunshine Coast project, was launched to promote and accelerate investment in digital infrastructure in the region
  • Silicon Coast is grassroots not-for-profit community that promotes a growing innovative, entrepreneurial, digital ecosystem on the Sunshine Coast
  • Digital champions program The Sunshine Coast has a high number of innovative entrepreneurs, digital champions and thriving businesses who all make a global impact, with many recognised by the Queensland Government’s community digital champions program
  • Food and Agribusiness Network is Australia’s fastest growing food and agribusiness cluster, encompassing the Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Noosa and Moreton Bay
  • Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance provides advocacy, networking professional development and showcases the region’s creative and knowledge industries
  • Smart centre showcases real-time results and examples of the smart city technology being tested in the region.

Infrastructure investment

Sunshine Coast Council is building a new economy based on a clear 20-year economic plan which presents multiple investment opportunities and opens new avenues for business growth, development and expansion:
