Public waste bins

Report a damaged or overflowing waste bin in a park, playground or public area.

Council provides more than 3,300 public place bins. This includes waste, recycle, butt bins and dog bag dispensers.

Learn how to recycle right - watch our Recycle Right series for tips on how to recycle the right way.

Public bins are for public use only. Please do not put your residential or commercial waste into public bins. This can cause the bins to overflow, creating a mess.

If a bin is full - please use another nearby bin or take your waste home with you.

Please contact council to report:

  • overflowing public waste bins
  • damaged public waste bins
  • empty dog bag dispensers
  • damaged dog bag dispensers.

Dog bags are provided in some locations as a courtesy only. It is a requirement to carry dog bags with you to clean up after your dog.
