Consider volunteering

Volunteering provides an opportunity to be involved in activities while meeting people and learning more about your area.

Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills and gain Australian work experience. It can build confidence, help you meet local people, and its fun!

Many people find paid employment after starting as a volunteer.

Volunteer Program

Council’s volunteering program offers many opportunities including:

  • festivals and events
  • environment and conservation programs
  • libraries and galleries.

Council also offers support and training opportunities for volunteers

Volunteering Sunshine Coast

Volunteering Sunshine Coast  keeps a database of volunteer positions to suit a range of skills and interests.

They offer the following help:

  • support to make informed choices about your volunteer work
  • helping people who are seeking paid employment to take part in volunteer work. This helps to keep their skills updated, and builds self esteem
  • referring volunteers to not-for-profit organisations across all sectors of the community.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share.
We commit to working in partnership with the Traditional Custodians and the broader First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) community to support self-determination through economic and community development.
