Tom Petrie speakers’ forum

In the lead up to the ‘Back to Nambour’ celebrations, Sunshine Coast Libraries are hosting a forum dedicated to the explorer Tom Petrie.

Manager of Library and Gallery Services, Ross Duncan said it would be an event of interest to the whole community.

"We are presenting this event as a speakers’ forum, 'Fact, history, theatre: Interpreting Tom Petrie," Mr Duncan said.

"There are several authoritative and well known panel members including Janice Hall, a direct descendent, Dr Christine Comans, recently retired Head of Drama at Queensland University of Technology, script writer/academic Dr Don Batchelor and historian Adrienne Blyth.

"We are also very pleased that Wesley Enoch, Artistic Director of the Queensland Theatre Company will be on the panel, he is an intelligent, articulate and forthright speaker, it’s wonderful that he is taking interest in regional forums such as this."

The forum will be held at Nambour Library on Wednesday 3 August from 2pm. Bookings are essential, call the Nambour library on 5441 8332.
