The Kransky Sisters to wow audiences with Tunes from the Tube

With regular appearances across Australian television and performing arts venues, the Kransky Sisters are no strangers when it comes to entertaining the masses with their zany approach to storytelling through music and strangely relevant cover songs.

Catch their only Sunshine Coast performance at council’s Lake Kawana Community Centre on Thursday, September 8 at 7.30pm as part of the Horizon Sunshine Coast festival of arts and culture.

Sisters Mourne, Eve and Dawn are an oddball musical trio who live in a quiet country town and through their superbly droll comic dialogue have captured the hearts of Australians on the silver screen and on stage for more than 15 years.

Part comedy, part music with a cabaret style, the Kransky Sisters have mastered Goth-folk interpretations, similarly echoing the Addams Family.

In their newest production Tunes from the Tube the bizarre sisters have teamed up with Topology, an indie classical quintet formed in 1997.

Topology is in need of a tuba player for an upcoming concert and had Dawn Kransky in mind.

Older sisters Mourne and Arva accompany Dawn on this musical endeavour which begins with a rehearsal weekend-stay at the Kransky Sisters’ house in Esk. Unexpected distractions arise when Topology bring along their TV set, breaking a life-long Kransky family rule.

What follows is a musical trip of nostalgia for Topology and a daring delve into the darker side of modern-day music for the sheltered sisters.

Their combined alluring musical sound will make this night out with your strange old aunts an unforgettable experience.
